Regenwurm Lab does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to the developer or to third parties. There is no developer-operated server and no user account.
Your observations, photos, and counts are stored locally on the device using SwiftData and processed there only. The five earthworm species are embedded in the app. The app needs no internet connection for its features; it calls no interface for them and embeds no third-party services.
The app sends no request to the GBIF database or to any other service. Such a comparison was intended, but it is not reachable in the shipped version: the code for it is called from no view. The GBIF species keys of the five species are embedded in the app and only serve to identify them; they are transmitted just as little as the fields that prepare a later publication of observations. Should a comparison be activated in a future version, this policy will be updated beforehand.
For evidence photos of your observations the app asks for camera and photo library access. The images stay locally with the respective observation and are not transmitted.
The app does not request your location and stores no coordinates. It contains no code for locating the device, so the corresponding system prompt never appears. A place is only recorded where you type it in yourself — the town of a campaign, for instance; that entry stays locally on the device.
The app contains no analytics SDKs, advertising libraries, tracking pixels, or similar technologies. No user tracking takes place.
The app is distributed via the Apple App Store. Apple may collect device-related data under its own privacy policy, available at: apple.com/privacy
